At last I've finally caught up with all the magazines that have been sitting on my side. With the Up to Boy post up, the only magazine left was this issue (August) of CD Data and it's crammed full with H!P goodness...well I'm exaggerating a bit, just more than usual, Shohei's had the pleasure of translating (cheers Shohei, I will at some point by you huge number of beers for all of these).
This months issue covers Morning Musume's recent release Onna ni Sachi Are and looks at how the new members Junjun and Rinrin are coping, it's good to see that the other members are excepting and taking care of them, when Hitomi was leader, she was putting a lot of effort to make the feel comfortable, it's good to see that now she's gone everyone else is doing their best to make them feel welcome.
Morning Musume Tanjo 10Nen Kinentai also feature, and the article look into their new release Itoshiki Tomo e and how the girls relate to it. Koharu seems to be having some problems how a 'bad friend' could be considered a friend, whilst Nacchi and Kaori, have no problem relating to this, each pointing to each other as their 'bad friend'.
Last but not least is Reina's 14th Tanakamesen, she explains her loves and hates of summer and I have to agree with her hate, there are so many insects and it's really annoying in this heat, for me it's flying ants, I hate them, I always have so annoying! I have to say I've never had any problem with cockroaches before, but I'd imagine if Reina had a scare from one now I'm sure she'd have an army of fans fighting over who's going to squish it.



Morning Musume. Coolness and Melancholic

Morning Musume will release their new single on the 25th of July, with the new 6th generation leader, Takahashi Ai.
Tanaka said "'Onna Ni Sachi-Are' has melancholic lyrics with cool music. This is really hard to express"
Takahashi said "Tsunku-san told us we should sing with a smile, which was difficult, when we sing sad lyrics our faces also look sad (laughs)"

It must be hard to sing a song about such a sad situation, but 'Onna Ni Sachi- Are' is not only a heartbreaking song, you can also feel the strength in it, get over the feeling and grab the happiness. so, the uptempo beat is fit for the lyrics in a way.
Takhashi said "The last line of lyrics ended with hope, I guess Tsunku-san wanted to express the strength of the girls, so, I understood why he wanted us to sing with a smile"

And this time, Junjun and Rinrin are in the member line up, it must be difficult to sing in an un-native language. Junjun said "It was difficult until we could pronounce and learn the meaning of the words, but after I got the meaning I could sing with feeling. As Takahashi-san and Tanaka-san said it was difficult to sing such sad lyrics, with such a hard dance and having to smile. This was my first time recording but, the other members looked after me well, I didn't feel tense". Rinrin said "the PV shot was gorgeous! We adore Morning Musume, I was so impressed! The other members praised my dancing, which cheered me up a lot"
They both answered in Japanese for this interview, occasionally Takahashi and Tanaka helped them out, it was heart warming.

Tanaka said " I am the one member in the middle of the group, Eri (Kamei) is
third, so I feel I have to be mature. Junjun and Rinrin are very hard working and in the PV shooting they were last one to shoot, but they were there from early in the morning! When I saw them I felt had to do more! When I was a new member the other members kindly taught me, I want to be like them"
Takahashi's mild atmosphere and Tanaka's cheerfulness, is a good combination with Junjun and Rinrin.
We can now expect not only success in Japan for Morning Musume, but success in the rest of Asia.



Morning Musume Tanjo 10Nen Kinentai "It's a Special thing"

Morning Musume became 10 years old this year, and to celebrate this they formed "Morning Musume Tanjo 10Nen Kinentai", a group consisting of Iida Kaori Abe Natsumi (1st member),
Goto Maki(3rd Member), Niigaki Risa(5th), and Kusumi Koharu(7th).
Iida said "When I heard about this unit from Tsunku-san, I felt that 10 years had gone so quickly, I was glad that I am able to sing with the other members to help celebrate this anniversary"
Abe said "After graduation I performed solo and with some other units but, Morning Musume is a special thing for me".

This is the second single by the unit. The theme for the first single "Bokura-ga Ikiru My Asia" was about Japan within Asia, which was a big perspective, but, his one is about the friendship between girls, it is more personal.

Goto said "This song reminds me of when I was in Morning Musume, I started my career when I was in 2nd grade of Junior high school, I spent a lot of time with the other members, I didn't have any other members joining with me in my generation, so the other current members and my family supported me a lot".
Niigaki said " The most impressive lyrics for me are "my boyfriend told me that in your graduation album, you are smiling in all the photos", this means that we enjoyed our school days with a lot of girl friends"

The title "Itoshiki Tomo e (Bad Friend)" is a big point of this song, but, the youngest member, Kusumi doesnt seem to understand. "I cant understand why how bad friends can mean a friend. The song is slow and has a difficult rhythm, I found it difficult to sing about the adult mind (laugh)"

It may be the proof that they are growing up, that they understand that their bad friend is their best friend. Abe said "The lyrics always reminded of Kaori, our argument are always just tiny things. We were best friend but also rivals as well, so we argued about really small things (laughs). So maybe Kaori is my bad friend (laughs)".
Iida also said "The same line also reminds me of Nacchi! We argued a lot! But from this experience, we can now talk about everything and anything. I like the line "Hey, you became beautiful" its too embarrassing to say that face to face, but I can say it in the song"

A nostalgic and slow melody with honest lyrics, it will make you all honest as well.



Tanakamesen

Hello! It's Reina. July is coming! It's too hot! I dont want to get sunburnt, so I got 5 bottles of sunscreen!
What I like about Summer is that there are a lot of places I can go! Sea, pool, festivals etc.... I want to go to a festival! When I was Junior high school, I used to go cycling with my friend but, we didnt go to places, we just hung around.

Hellopro Live is coming! A lot of units will be singing a lot of songs, it is like afestival and carnival together! I will sing a lot! Come to see us! I look forward to meeting you!

The foods I want to eat in the Summer is pizza and cold noodles. Noodles such as Somen are good for the summer, but I prefer rich ones. But maybe for the minute I just want to eat pizza (laughs)

"Onna-ni Sachi-are" will release on the 25th of July, the music is hard and the lyrics are sentimental. I think a lot of girls will empathized with the feelings, I want the girls to listen to this tune. The dance is pretty cool!

What I dont like about Summer is how many insects around, they are everywhere! Especially cockroachs! First time I saw one of them I was in my grandma's house, I cried! They fly too! I hate them!

Reina saw cockroaches!? Thats scary. Poor her.

It's great how some of the members are relating personally to the lyrics of their new single. The sound of the music really is quite a contrast from the meaning of the lyrics and it's interesting to hear that some of them had difficulty with that along with Tsunku's direction. I was really hoping that somehow the addition of 2 Chinese members might help to raise overall sales as I'd had hoped they would have a growing fan base over there. But sadly that doesn't look to be the case, at least not yet as the sales are quite a drop off from "Kanashimi Twilight."

It's funny to hear that Nacchi & Kaorin used fight a lot over small things! I guess when you spend so much time together thing's are bound to get on one's nerves. lol.

I may not be one of those trying to get the cockroach though as I hate them too! Especially the big ones that fly and sometimes it even seems like they're flying at you on purpose. :O
