Well now we know. In a recent post (Itoshiki Tomo e Limited CD) John pointed out that a magazine had published an interview with Aiboin's mum, the magazine is called Josei Seven (女性セブン) and is the equivalent of something like Hello magazine, 'it's aimed at women who love gossip' to quote Shohei. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy of the magazine as it came out a couple of weeks ago, but I did find a Japanese article which had a quoted section from the magazine (http://entameblog.seesaa.net/article/50776539.html), if anyone has any scans of this article I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know.

Kago Ai's Mother, has admitted her daughter's relationship! Taken from "Josei Seven"

Accoding to "Josei Seven", Ex Morning Musume member Kago Ai(19) who was shockingly fired from her management office when she was found smoking, stayed in Hawai during this confusing time and now she is living in NY.
Her mother was interviewed about Kago's debut in Morning Musume, when she was fired, to what she is doing now, and also about that man....

Kago's mother said "(in regards to the second smoking incident) After she called me, Ai came home quite soon, and at that time that man came with her. When he saw my face he immediatly apologized, I had already recieved an apologiy from him on the phone as well. The situation was tough, but he came all the way to Nara and explained everything to me. He was very sincere and was thinking about her future seriously as well, so I said 'It happened, it can't be helped, we should think about the future and what happens now.' "
That man is Yasuyuki Ishimoto (35) who is the owner of a popular cafe "SOMA" in Shibuya, Tokyo. He often goes abroad with his job, there are some rumors that he used to work in a brothel and was flirtatious with other model, idols etc...

"I know that there have been many things written in magazines, but, in fact he is really good guy. I would not forgive him if he wasn't honest, but he talked about the future seriously and he is the one who Ai chose, I admitted this to him. I think the relationship will be on going like it is now. He went to Hawai with Ai and he looked after everything."

In the interview she also talked about her divorce, Kago's brothers, sisters and how Kago was looking after them financially. Additionly she talks about Kago's Morning Musume era (she was forbidden from swapping phone numbers etc...)

Hmm, I'm glad Aibon is doing well. I was wondering when we would hear more news on her and Tsuji. Man and to think I was going to go NY but couldn't because school just start. The cost of my books ate my shopping budget.

Uwah, Aibon's living in New York? Thats kinda cool, but disappointing at the same time. It means that Tsuji and her probably wont be meeting with each other any time soon. But hey, she's actually within hours distance of where I am now (Michigan).

I'm feeling oddly happy after reading this translation. I'm happy for Aibon, and i'm guesisng he must be a decent guy if her mother approves of him in such a way. As for the living in New york thing, i think that's both good and bad. It's good that she can be away from all the press/media attention etc... and get her life sorted, but on the bad side it's kinda dashing her chances if she planned to get her career up and running again.

Ah well, in the end, best luck to her and i hope her life as it is now was worth the sacrifice she had to make.

I'd have to agree with John, the only reason I can think that she'd go to New York, whether it's permanent or for a break, is to just get away from everything. She's famous in Japan, I'd imagine the majority of people know who she is and what has happened in her career recently, to stay in Japan would just be a royal pain in the backside for her. Especially if she's still with this guy, I'd imagine the two of them wouldn't be able to walk the street without having people intruding on them. In New York she's a no one, unless you're a fan of H!P or a fan of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (with a really good memory) you'd just walk straight by her. I'd imagine that that's the kind of space she needs. I can't imagine that she's over there looking to become a singer/actor or anything like that.

The whole thing for me has it's positive and negative sides, obviously I'm peeved that she's still with this guy as he was the cause of her departure from H!P after such a long time on suspension, but then it takes two tango (as they say) so the blame can't solely be put on him, Aibon is equally to blame as he is (if not more so), which then leads onto the positive side of things, if they are still together then it's because they want to be and if I'm honest if Aibon is happy then who are we to complain? At least she didn't get dropped from H!P for a quick fling.

ddrchick, thanks that means a lot to me that you would even consider doing that, but no worries I'd never ask for donations for the site, I'm just pleased that you like the site enough to even think about doing something like that.

I like the fact that she is in NYC now only because now i live near her. However, she probably only went there to escape from ppl who knew her and therefore, if i did find her and approached her, she would probably be annoyed. But still. im glad she is in ny cause ny freakin' kicks ass

A full translation of the article and scans from the magazine can now be found at Hello!Online. It's a very interesting read and it shows you how hard it must be to live the life of a H!P member. The thing really got me was that she had to move away from her mother (and other family members) to live with her grandmother in Tokyo, for someone so young that must have been a really hard thing to do, and only seeing her mum once every two months! That's got to be tough!
An average of three hours sleep!! I get an average of 4-5 sleep a day and I'm constantly tired, how do you cope with that at such a young age and with such a busy schedule!?

Hahaha, such colourful language!
At the time of the smoking incident (and even now) Aibon is too young to smoke by Japanese law. If I remember rightly you have to be above the age of 20, so the reason why they went crazy was because she was breaking the law, secondly she's an idol and has to conform to a certain image, smoking/law breaking are not part of that image, lol, neither is being caught with an older guy in a hot spring resort.
Admittedly this is pretty tame when compared to Western performers who can quite literally get away with anything and still have a successful career.

Right now, I don't really know what to feel for her...
I mean, if she somehow managed to pull it off her sleeves and be able to get back to "freakin' showbiz", that would be a "yeah!!!" to all her fans...
But if shse manages to get back, her "not so beautiful past will always be slapped to her face whenever she shows up to a talk show....
That's something painful....

I really hope that Aibon does come back to showbiz, expecially back into singing, I miss her a lot. It's just one of them things she'd have to learn to deal with if she came back, I'm sure every celebrity has something they don't like being asked.
I suppose the other side of it is, what if she marries the guy? I have no idea what her situation is at the moment, I'm guessing they're still together, but if they marry I can't imagine that the whole thing would be such a big deal, it certainly can't be looked upon as a bad thing if she was ever interviewed.
I think that perhaps Aibon much like Maki has the opportunity to exploit there departure form H!P in a way that could do their career some good. If they can shed the whole Otaku H!P fan thing (sure they can never get rid of it) but if they can start appealing to more kinds of people both of their careers have the potential to be mind blowing...if they come back.

Yeah it was apparently going to be Aibon's mum posing for the PB, but who knows if it's coming out or not, I've heard nothing about it for quite some time now, you would have thought that if she was going to release it then it would have been better to do it sooner rather than later whilst the whole Aibon scandal is in the media, cash in on all that publicity?
Maybe she's decided against it?
