Nakki Concert Solo Photobook
Thursday, 29th May 2008 15:57
It's taken me quite some time to decide how I was going to get the images from this PB onto my PC, originally before receiving it in the post I was contemplating scanning it in but that idea was thrown right out of the window the minute I saw how fragile and unique the PB was, there's no way I'll be doing anything that could accidentally damage it. I finally on deciding on taking photos of it, I had planned on taking a joint 2 page photo to give a better idea on how the book looked as a whole showing what images were next to each other and going with the flow of the whole book, but again not wanting to damage the spine or crease the covers I couldn't bring myself to flatten it out enough to do this, so finally I've decided on taking individual shots of each page and display them in the same order as they are within the book, the pages have a white border running around them (visible on the last image) but I've taken that off as I'm sure you don't want to be sidetracked by seeing bits of my work desk.
I mention that this is a unique PB, obviously the order and selection of the photos have the possibility of being totally unique, although there's a chance that someone out there could end up with the same order of photos as me, I'd imagine it's highly unlikely, but what makes this really unique and an amazing collectors item is the fact that my name is printed on the first and last pages. On the first image, on the top left of a photo of
Nakki looking amazingly cute there's a little
Wonderful Hearts sign and written around is "Special Thanks to Paul Thomas" and then on the back page at the bottom left we have "Edited by Paul Thomas", when ordering this I had no idea these would be featured on it so I was gob smacked when I saw it, I have my own H!P merchandise with my name on it, I'm so happy!! Editor of a H!P PB's, sounds like a dream job! Where's my CV, lol, perhaps I can send it in before the final decisions are made on what photos are used for Koha's next PB.
Even better is the fact that some of the photos may have been taken from the concert I attended at the start of the year, as the images were taken from the Wonderful Hearts Concert on 4th January (I attended the evening show) and the Hello! Project 2008 Concert on 27th January, much like the DVD which features a Wonderful Hearts concert from the day I attend there's no real way of knowing whether it's the one I attended or not, but it's a 50/50 chance and I'd like to think that it was :)
I've also got another Solo Concert book on order from
Ohta, a Kohachan version, which I luckily managed to place on the very last day or orders (phew!!) so I can't wait that copy to turn up as well. And I can't wait to check out the back page and compare the Limited Publication Number, just to compare how many have been ordered from Koha and comparing it to Nakki's, obviously there's no way of knowing how many of each was actually printed but with my Nakki PB being number 65, I wonder how many Koha has printed? I guess this is a really good way for UFA to actually decide who will recieve PB releases in the future.

The whole process or ordering this was quite a task, first off there was the decision of who to get, Koha was a given so that choice was easy, but I wanted to take the opportunity to get another featuring a different member of H!P. I was tempted by a number of members; Sayumi, Risako, Erika, Nakki, Ayaya, Yui...the list goes on, lol. I decided that it would be best to get a member that doesn't currently have a PB release which really narrowed down my choices and then I thought, well I'm always moaning that neither Erika or Nakki have a PB release out so that was my choice decided I spent a good many hours looking through their photos and making numerous versions of the book on the flash interface until Nakki's cute looks and even cuter smile won me over.
I'm really looking forward to hearing from people that have ordered these as I'd love to know who and in what order the photos are in, these are such a unique collectable I'd love to see more, Strawberrie when you get yours you need to give me a shout.

Comment by Strawberrie on Thursday, 29th May 2008 16:06The book looks quite nice. I can't wait to recieve my JunJun one. Currently its staying England for a while so when I purchase my school books I will secretly ask Hamaila (?) to send it out to me.
Comment by hapichan on Thursday, 29th May 2008 23:14oh my goodness!! That is TOOOOO COOL! O__O Your NAME on it. Wow. XD Makes me want to order one too T_T And then I can brag to people who know nothing about hello pro xD and be like yeah, see? They thank me, personally. Haha. XDD *total dork*
Okay >_> I may need to do this when the opportunity arises again. You've convinced me.
Comment by MorningBerryz on Friday, 30th May 2008 02:24This is so amazing!!! Your name is on it!! ^-^ H!P merchandise can't get any more personal than that!! I have so much stuff on order that sadly I had to pass on these releases and there is some regret there now knowing that they printo your name on it! You're so lucky you'll have two of them and great reasoning for choosing Nakki as she doesn't have a pb release just yet. I'm thinking you were at the concert these photos are from....I think it's fate. ^-^
Comment by Rogre on Friday, 30th May 2008 06:41Where did you order this from?
Comment by paul.thomas on Friday, 30th May 2008 16:44Strawberrie, it'll be worth the wait! Lol, it's a good excuse to start studying early I guess ;p I take it you're dad hasn't calmed down any then?
hapichan, it's a great buy! The question is who would you get? I wonder how often they do these releases? I'm wondering if they do them for every Wonderful Hearts/Elder Club H!P tour? I can't wait until they release them again.
MorningBerryz, it really does seem like a choose the right concert to go to doesn't it, although I can never be certain that it's they're not taken from the earlier concert that day I love to believe that they're taken from the one I attended :) I know what you mean about having to pass on items, there's a couple of things I've been after recently that I just haven't been able to get simply because I've got so much stuff already ordered!
Rogre, the webiste
http://www.god4u.jp was selling them and I bought it through Ohta's Hello Project Goods Shop, I've put the link to his sop below;

Comment by Mr Waffle on Saturday, 31st May 2008 14:52I got a bunch of these last year, and a bunch this year. My Linlin one was autographed this year... though... well... read my url to see what happened. XD
Comment by paul.thomas on Sunday, 1st June 2008 16:24Phew, It's not as bad as I thought, when I read your comment the first thing that came straight into my head was that you spilt coffee all over it or something like that!
I wonder how many of these actually get signed?
I've just got an email from Ohta saying he's sent out my Koha version, can't wait to receive it.
Comment by Daniel on Thursday, 5th June 2008 05:28Wow, that's amazing! I remember checking out the site that would let you create your own PB of a fave H!P member. I wanted to make an Ayaka PB so bad, but didn't have the dough :P Hopefully, we can see an official Saki PB or one of any other C-ute member other than Airi or Maimi. An Erika PB would be tha bomb :D
A new single for C-ute has been confirmed and should release at the end of July. This is good news but I'm still in hopes of a new one from Yuko Nakazawa or Maeda Yuki, hehe. Anyway, as for the new single, I'm gonna keep saying "Chisato or Erika solo please!"
Comment by paul.thomas on Friday, 6th June 2008 00:56I'm still crossing my fingers that we see some more members within C-ute get a PB release this year and I'm with you on Erika, it would be great!! My Koharu version on the Solo Concert book arrived in the country today, although the EMS tracking states that's it's waiting for an inspection from customs!...Damn them, I want to inspecting it, lol, I wonder how they're going to charge me on this I had a shipped along with my Momo and Erika t-shirts so the cost was quite high, I'm not to sure if I'll have to pay tax on all the total value of the items of just on the shirts, fairly certain printed matter doesn't come under custom charges, well except for photos.
Another C-ute single, their release dates are getting really close together, 4 singles this year compared to Morning Musume's 1...does that say something about C-ute's popularity?
Comment by passer-by on Monday, 9th June 2008 06:55I'm surprised you didn't get (and review) Kamei's latest complete photobook collection "Eri". It's absolutely fantastic, especially the little paragraphs she wrote about her thoughts of each photobook.
Comment by paul.thomas on Monday, 9th June 2008 09:38I've really fallen behind on the photobooks lately and not just on buying them, I' still want to make a post about Sayu's last PB release which I just haven't got around to doing and what's it been 6 months since it's been released? I recieved Gaki's Happy Girl in the post last week and should recieve Aichan's either this week or next, I'll probablly end up getting either Kamei's or Reina's with my next lot of orders, but as to which one I'm not entierly sure yet, it's a tough choice, it's the only PB I'm missing from all of Reina's, but then I haven't bought one of Kamei's PB releases since her first solo release...I think it really has to be Kamei's doesn't it.
Comment by nono-chan on Monday, 9th June 2008 15:14wow mr waffle! you're so lucky! I wish i had anautographed one. let alone a PB or anythin H!P. Yet again very awesome X3
Comment by passingbyagain on Wednesday, 11th June 2008 10:11Indeed it has to be lol...Especially since you haven't bought any of Kamei's PBs since her first solo release o_O come to think of it, Maple was awesome too. I think its her best pb yet..besides DAYS maybe... I just can't decide which XD
Comment by Cuties Zone on Monday, 16th June 2008 21:26lucky you..I wonder where can I get/buy these kind oc C-ute stuffs..
hey paul, could you suggest me where can I get that online?
hey, I see that u get a good site, so i already add you in my blogroll....
can u please do the same thing to me?
TQ
Comment by paul.thomas on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 10:15Unfortunatly the oncert solo books aren't availble any more, but fingers crossed they'll be doing them again next year. As for other C-ute items it might be worth checking the H!P sites Hello Shop (
http://www.helloshop.jp/ ), Mall City (
http://www.mall-city.net/ ) and even the concert merchandise pages on the H!P official site (
http://www.helloproject.com/museum/tour/index.html ) and then contacting Ohta at his H!P Goods Store (
http://smiletrade.info/hello/ ) to see if he can order them for you. I've just ordered some C-ute photos off of eBay a littl while ago, a set of Namida no Iro shots and a handful or Erika ones, can't wait to get them. Thanks for linking to the site, I'll add your site now.
Comment by Cuties Zone on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 20:23Thanks for the link...and thanks also for adding my site here..
Comment by Cuties Zone on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 20:33erm...i just checking out the links you given...poor me that its mainly in Japanese..i cant understand even a words
Comment by momo on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 21:10@Cuties Zone, Is there a specific item you're looking for? My japanese is sufficent, I can help you.
Comment by nono-chan on Wednesday, 18th June 2008 15:32i asked my mom what she thought if i wanted a H!P shirt(after telling her how much it would be) and she just looked at me and said,"it's a japanese shirt isn't it?"i nodded and she said"i'll think about it, but do'nt thin it means yes." so there might be hope! XD if anything i'm guessing i migh have to wait till my b-day,but i'm praying everynight that it'll come through.XD
Comment by Cuties Zone on Wednesday, 18th June 2008 21:45@momo
you really kind.thanks. I don't have specific items to search...need to look at that item first...
maybe im looking for their DVD collections, etc...hope that it's not expensive
hey momo...are u japanese? is it hard to master that languages? i wanna learn japanese also
Comment by momo on Thursday, 19th June 2008 04:27No I am not Japanese, I'm from the United States who has learned Japanese for 6 years.
For DVD's, they are sold elsewhere like cdjapan, amazon.co.jp to name a few places, they also ship internationally
also, check out Ohta's ebay store as well:
http://stores.ebay.com/Hello-Project-Japanese-goods-store_Morning-Musume-Hello-Project_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ2QQftidZ2QQtZkm
Comment by paul.thomas on Thursday, 19th June 2008 12:42Momo, you know Japanese?
Cuties Zone, if you're after DVDs and CDs it may be worth checking out YesAsia, the advantage with them is that if you don't mind waiting a little longer for the items (6-12 business days) then you don't have to pay for shipping, although be a little careful as I've noticed with things like photobooks it works out about the same (sometimes cheaper) to order it from somewhere like HMV and pay the shipping plus you have the advantage that it should arrive quicker, it may also be worth checking out the HELLOPROLAND ebay store as well,
http://stores.ebay.com/HELLOPROLAND
nono-fan that would be a great surprise gift if you're mum was to order you one, you never know you might wake up one morning and find it waiting at the end of the bed for you. A H!P shirt as a birthday is always great, Kat normally always gets me one as a present for either my birthday or christmas and I'm always so happy with them, there's just so many different versions and they're all so great so when I get given one that I wouldn't normally buy I'm so happy, being a H!P fan is so expensive, especially with the tshirts, when ever I see them I always want to get a few but normally I end up getting just the one.
Comment by nono-chan on Thursday, 19th June 2008 16:06i'm just gonna have to get my big sis on it cus my mom doesn't know how to order stuff online!XD and i'm learning japanese too momo! i'm in my 3rd year! i suck at kanji though XDmy memory's not that awesome. so if you wanna learn it cutieszones then i ope your memory's good lol but it is very fun expecialy if your watching harmoni@ and you can somewhat understand what they're talking about.
Comment by Cuties Zone on Saturday, 21st June 2008 20:27@momo
you lucky momo...6 years learning jap language...im sure u already master it now...
@paul,thomas
thaks for the link...its quite helping... :)
Comment by momo on Sunday, 22nd June 2008 00:38@Cuties Zone, I have not fully mastered it but I do know some of it.
And a friendly reminder that the word "jap" is offensive, I would not use it to reference anything Japanese. The word goes back to the WWII days and it does offend the Japanese people
Comment by Cuties Zone on Sunday, 22nd June 2008 21:14Is it? thanks for telling me that..i don't event know about that before. I will not used that word anymore...
