My Life as a H!P Fans Friend
Sunday, 27th July 2008 17:52
Hello, this post is very late so apologies to Paul first off!
Some of you may have come across me before in previous posts, in fact Paul has even created a tag just for me! My name is Chris and for the best part of 10 years I have been friends with this websites creator. Throughout our time as friends he has been in to lots of things, usually for a year or so then they pass, H!P fandom however seems to be here to stay. I was there at the birth of this "hobby", if I had known then, sitting in that hotel room in Shinjuku, what I know now I would have changed the channel! Every since that first trip to Japan the obsession has got worse. As you may have guessed by now (and sorry if this offends) I am NOT a H!P fan, not at all but part of the baggage that comes with having Paul as a friend is that I know FAR to much about it all for my liking. Due to this prolonged exposure to all things H!P I have certain opinions which I shall now share with you all.
Firstly who casts band members? Some of them are so annoying I can't describe. I have just searched the blog for the names of the offending members (there are two in specific). Firstly Okai Chisato from C-ute, she looks like a boy and everytime I see her on camera she is so irritating I want to stand on a stool and kick her in the head. Secondly Mitsui Aika (or "moon face" as I refer to her) from Morning Musume, who hired her, seriously take a GOOOOD long look. Why?
Secondly the polls that HelloBlog conducts. I am continually shocked that Kamei Eri does not win every single time. Are voters blind to the fact that by far she is the most attractive member of the group and I see no reason to base voting on anything else.
I have other things to say and other opinions and questions that need answers (like what do you REALLY do with those photo books hmmmmm??) but for now I will save those for another day, if I am lucky Paul may ask me to post again one month.
Until then goodbye H!P fans!

Comment by Zendra on Sunday, 27th July 2008 19:03Not an HP FAN ! Maybe you prefer boys. I'm sure there is a nice Robbie Williams web site you could post on -or perhaps you like watching an exciting episode of Last of the Summer Wine ( beats watching Berryz Kobo eh ? )
I'm sure none of us can wait for your other opinions and questions
Comment by Shirow on Sunday, 27th July 2008 19:18I think there are two types of people in this world ...
H!p fans, and people who have not heard of h!p.
I refuse to accept there is a grey area!!!
You wanna kick Okai in the head? poor girl!
And what do i do with my photobooks? probably the same thing that paul does with his ;)

^That is the guy who casts these girls. Yeah. 'Nuff said.
You pose really good questions... post here more, please~
Comment by Henkka on Sunday, 27th July 2008 19:39Hahaha, I loved your post Chris. Very entertaining! How long will Paul be gone? You could do a few more at least! I'd love to hear more opinions from a H!P hater. I love H!P myself, but man, sometimes I just get sick of everyone praising it too much, you know?
Anyway, I can see why you dislike Okai and Aika. Great that you like Kamei though! What people really do with the photobooks is something I would like to see you analyzing further too...
Comment by bulmasman on Sunday, 27th July 2008 19:58lol great post. I felt the same as you long ago before i actually got into H!P. I never saw them as anything special at all etc... But i suppose, as with Marmite, you either love it or you hate it. Personally i LOVE H!P and can't imagine not having them around now.
I can't comment on Okai since i really don't know C-ute, but as for Aika... she's by far one of my favourite members. She just so cute and smiley ALL of the time, but not in an annoying way like, say, Koharu (sorry Paul D:).
As for my Reina PB's... I just like to flcik through them from time to time... i don't do anything i shouldn't >.> She bring's a smile to my face and, as with the music, just cheers me up immensly. It's not something that can really be described/explained, once again, you love it or hate it.
Oh and for the record... I now have a kitten called Reina ^^
Comment by Minala on Sunday, 27th July 2008 20:36Great post =)
and i soo understand you...
i dont think there is something between liking h!p and ..well hating h!p...
i personally love okai chisato... she is one of my favorite h!p members.. well after Maa-chan and Gaki-san..
since i want to study photography in uni i just look at the photos.. i think it would be kind of wrong if i do anything else with them..since i am a girl =/
a straight girl =O..and i am not attracted to younger girls........anywaay...
Comment by Morningtime on Sunday, 27th July 2008 20:47I almost agree with you on Eri. I mean if she still had the short hair it'd be close. But Reina is by far the sexiest MM have ever had. Unless it was some kind of looking good in a bikini contest in which case yes Eri is the best (and really I want to see that contest. On 3 hour dvd. With a further 2 hours of behind the scenes extras). But normally since her figure is kept more hidden and Reina loves skirts and boots there can only be one winner.
As for what I do with the photobooks well sometimes I flick through them and let the waves of visual pleasure roll over my soul until refreshed and energised I get on with the day to day treadmill that is modern life. Other times I simply have a wa...oh doorbell. Gotta go.*
*Joke. Honest. Well okay maybe once. But it was a particularly good photobook.
Comment by Henkka on Sunday, 27th July 2008 20:50@ Morningtime:
Just out of curiosity, which photobook? :)
Comment by Pex on Sunday, 27th July 2008 20:51Heh, there ought to be an award for friends like you, who put up with our obsessions. My best friend, until I finally converted him into being a fan, had to listen to me drone on and on about Doctor Who for years on end.
As for Chisato, I like her boyish looks. She's got this "cool street urchin" vibe going on that really appeals to me for some reason. As for Aika, she has a cute underbite and a smile that is just infectious. They're not my favorite H!P members, that's just a good quality I see in each of them.
As for photobooks, I imagine that some fans do the same things that people do with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues or your average issue of Playboy. On the other hand, some people only read them for the articles. I don't happen to own any photobooks, although I'd like to. As for what I personally would do with them, I'd probably stare at the pictures and think of how pretty the person in the photos looked. :)
Comment by Andrei on Sunday, 27th July 2008 21:13Well, if you analyse just the beauty of the girls, I agree that Eri is the prettiest one. However, we don't just analyse that. I agree with you, that Aika is a shame.
Comment by Bri on Sunday, 27th July 2008 21:37Okai Chisato is awesome. She may look like a boy, but her voice is fantastic for someone who is only 14 years old and she is hilarious. Mitsui Aika isn't one of my favorites, but she doesn't annoy me (anymore). Kamei Eri is beautiful, but sometimes she can look odd. As much as I love her, she didn't start to look really good until the end of last year.
I own 3 photobooks. Kamei Eri's Maple, Suzuki Air's Clear and Berryz Koubou's 2007 Tour Photobook. I just flip through them when I am bored...I don't do anything...else with them because I am not attracted to them that way.
Since I am not a guy I don't judge them on looks. So I really don't know how it feels like. My favorites are usually the ones who have the best voice (because I listen to their music a lot) and those who have the best personality (I watch behind-the-scenes stuff a lot too). But since you aren't an H!P fan, you don't really have anything else to judge them by haha
Comment by Jason on Sunday, 27th July 2008 22:54ARGH I so agree with that Chisato thing. God when she tried to be sexy in 'Edo no Temari Uta II' I seriously almost vomitted in my mouth. One of the most annoying H!P members ever.
On the Eri thing - I just do not see the attraction to her at all. I consider all the current MM members better looking than her aside from maybe Linlin.
Comment by Julili on Sunday, 27th July 2008 23:04Well, my closest friends don't really understand my love for H!P and altough I have tried to bring some over to the H!P fandom I have still to gain one....
I can agree with you that some of the castings aren't good (pandas anyone?) at least you have a huge variaty of girls too like. Like for me, I can't understad why Aichan is so popular among fans seeing as in my eyes she is very blah.
When it comes to PB's, I'm a huge Yossy fan so I own one of her PB's. I really love this girl so looking through at her pics really makes me happy. I still haven't fully understood why the japanese love PB's so much but it is quite nice to see your favourite artist in a different setting then the usual company pic.

Comment by The Chris on Monday, 28th July 2008 00:24Thanks for all your replies! I am glad you all enjoyed what I had to say! I honestly mean no offence and everything is meant in a light hearted way! It is good to see that sometimes people on the internet can enjoy different points of view.
. . . . . . . . . . . . Well all except Zendra, everyone else seemed to enjoy my post except you. . . . . . . . . .
@Shirow: This is the thing you see, I genuinely have no idea WHAT Paul does with his PBs, really I don't.
@Bri: If you are of the female gender then I understand you would vote differently. I must congratulate you on choosing by voice, something I feel male fans fail to do. I have had many arguments with Paul over certain members being poor singers!!
I will post again if Paul allows me to, I have more to say on certain issues such as dance routines, general vocal work and certain styling choices that are made as well as the dreaded WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR PB's question.
Thanks again everyone.
Chris
Comment by Henkka on Monday, 28th July 2008 00:48You know Chris, you should ask Paul to make you a regular contributor here. I think what's really needed, whenever a new single or album release comes out that everyone loves and raves about, is someone ALWAYS calling it absolute shit. Just to agitate people, haha. And since you seem you could actually make reasonable arguments why everything sucks, I think you could fill this role perfectly!
I like watching people get mad... :)
Comment by G.Y on Monday, 28th July 2008 00:56Not everyone is destined to like H!P or Jpop music. Country music turns me off with all that twanging, but the smooth sounds of Koharu Kusumi, W, or Morning Musume hits the right nerve in me.

Comment by papermoonshine on Monday, 28th July 2008 05:36Only problem I have with Aika is I don't think she's really that great of a singer. I was kinda surprised when I watched the Sexy 8 Beat concert on DVD. But, as a double standard; I like Sayumi's singing even though she admits herself that is isn't that great. But I do somewhat agree on the Kamei comment. I enjoy her personality and singing, but i'm surprised most people I talk to don't find her very attractive. I guess lots of people have different tastes. I see people obsess about Koharu but I don't even really find her that cute personally.
All in all though I like everyone currently in the group and hope they keep this setup for at least a year or two yet. I do miss Miki and Yossy though.
Comment by anonymous on Monday, 28th July 2008 06:04I have some questions to ask you
Why the hell would you think of kicking a 14 year old girl in the head?
Are you on crack? Or something worse..
I don't understand whats wrong with you.
But Eri=hot.
Jason. Linlin=not.
Comment by BladeMaster on Monday, 28th July 2008 08:14Aika "Moonface" ain't bad at all. I mean, she's in the middle of the MM pack. But definitely not the worst.
For all the MM fans, please revisit Alo-Hello 2 MM DVD, lots of bikini shots at the start.
Comment by Djavan on Monday, 28th July 2008 08:30Aika's ok I guess her singing ok too. But the thing that bugs me about her is her speaking voice. It remins me of a old lady or something. The one member that bugs me is Koharu(Sorry paul!). She seems to me like one of those Look at me! Look at me! type of people I can't stand.
I don't own any PB's and I don't really plan on it. Their to expensive and for some reason I feel dirty for looking and the girl's in that type of situation.
I'm not blind I can asolutely see Eri is a beautiful girl but I judge the girls on their talents not really they're looks. Though sometimes she can be so cute aside from Sayu who for some reason I adore.
Comment by Tsu on Monday, 28th July 2008 09:01I don't understand why you dislike Okai Chisato, because she is my fav c-ute member and she is a great singer. She makes funny faces at the camera, so maybe that is why you dislike her, but she is just a kid.
I don't like Aika that much but I don't bother with not liking her XD
I am not a guy and I watch HP because its cute and I like cute stuff, and I also like happy jpop music.
Bye
Comment by XiTaU on Monday, 28th July 2008 10:01How can you say Eri is the most attractive i think the poll results are correct gaki-san is no.1 for looks, not saying i dont like Eri just Gaki has taken mine and many other members hearts over the years. As for other reasons why we vote for them i say singing isnt the highest thing on the list but it is there, i usually go by which personality i like best on camera and that girl is always my favorite easy as that.
Well i say you go back watch some of the classic gold era hello mornings, Utabans and various specials involving the comedians 99 and you will see why we all love them so much.
Comment by Matt_D on Monday, 28th July 2008 10:48Photobooks? Why... I beat off to them of course. Well I don't actually, that would just be a pain (you gotta change pages and hold them down and stuff and that's just wastes valuable concentration). Plus soiling the feux notion of Reina's purity.
I have to correct you, Eri is not the most attractive member, Reina is - anyone who disagrees is obviously ill, but I can accept that illness I suppose. It goes beyond Reina's looks, she has mannerisms that are just adorable, the attitude and image she puts across is great and so is her dress sense.
However on the subject of moonface I concure - but there is a far worse member of c-ute then Okai Chisato, and its that 10 year old they have bouncing around O.O.
I spent alot of the weekend watching memories seisun no hikari at the weekend and was thinking how the whole r&b/beatbox thing suits Reina to a T. I've thought this before but having the video on repeat all weekend clinched the deal - also what a simple video - love it. Love Reina.
just incase someone hasn't seen it O.o

O happiness - I just received the Spring 2008 concert tour DVD. Can't believe I have to make it through a whole days work >.<
Comment by Matt_D on Monday, 28th July 2008 10:51Oh and what do I really do with my photobooks? Nothing. Well except maybe every now and then when I haev lads around and want to show them the Reina photobook after we've watched a half dozen concerts.
Comment by Charmy Renai on Monday, 28th July 2008 14:33H!P won't appeal to everyone. A few years ago, it wouldn't have appealed to me. It's strange how I eventually became interested.
When I get photobooks at some point, I'll probably just look through them and enjoy the pictures. It's a shame that most of the members I like don't have photobooks. Some have only one or two.
By the way, I'm female. And lesbian. So I do enjoy seeing pretty females. But most of my favorite members are older. So I'm probably the weird one in this fandom.
Love, Charmy
Comment by The Chris on Monday, 28th July 2008 15:06@Charmy Rena: Ahhhhhh honesty, thats refreshing!! Unfortunaly you do seem to be out there on your own prefereing the older members, but sometmes being the weird one is good!
@anonymous or Jason: I am not smoking crack, what I said was meant in a light hearted way. I don't understnad whats wrong with you getting so caught up in something you can't see anything funny about it. If that kind of humour is distasteful for you then you will have learnt an important lesson, don't read posts that involve the name Chris.
@ Matt_D: This comment interests me:
"Plus soiling the feux notion of Reina's purity. "
From my experiences in Japan I genuinely belive this has a lot to do with what I don't understand anout it all, hmmmmmm got me thinking. Again thanks for the honesty! I actually belive this is how Paul feels about the whole thing and is one of the things I struggle to deal with.
Comment by Matt_D on Monday, 28th July 2008 17:57@The Chris
That's most likely the crux of it, the Japanese Idol scene provides somethign quiet quaint, the idea of the untouchable maiden, princesses, people to be idolised.
Harking back to some philosophy guy (may have been Aristotle but I'm not sure) Japanese Pop Idols are like "Ideas" ideal models of people. The notion being that ideas are the templates and all you normally see are shadows of those ideas, no one can quite match the idea. There are certain kinds of people that latch onto this idea and emerse themselves in it (like myself.) Of course in the end the girls are just real girls and shall ultimately "betray" the image.
I've tried to write about this particular psychology, but end up getting muddled. It's tied into the way they present an ideal (there are a great many different ideals - Japanese Pop Idols present only a few of these ideals), and equally how we are disatisfied on some fundamental level with our normality.
Of course you naturally focus on this particular obsession, but there are others that you naturally don't find so odd, different ideals such as sports teams/stars, or cars.
But much like with say football only a small percentage of people become fanatical to the extent that we are in regards to our Japanese Idols, but the same is true of Jpop acts, hundreds of thousands of people may like Momosu but only a small percentage shall collect PBs, DVDs, Photos, shirts etc.
But divorcing it from the general desire to idolise things that you can draw a level of psychological reinforcment from and looking purely at H!P it is very much about staking a little claim to perfection, however short lived it may be. You relate to the ideal, support them in a peculiar distant way as much as you can.
I wonder if the site were dedicated to a football team, and we were all talking about our faveroute football team members would it seem any less odd? I still think it would be odd, I think the peculair dependancy is odd... but then that's human beings for you, gods, ideas, teams, people, governments, I think everyone needs something to place a little zeal.
I've seen people describe this particular fascination (J-Idols, Anime, Games, take your pick) as a bad thing, but to be honest I think that people who have nothing to focus (be it something "exotic" like idols or anime, or something more normal football, celebs, god, etc) on often end up in a worse position.
See why I tend to get ever more muddled as I dip deeper into the idea, it's all just a tangled mess, just like anything else to do with personality, preferances and psyche.
8 minutes tilll home time ho ho ho. No make that 4.
Comment by Morningtime on Monday, 28th July 2008 18:48Going back to the photobooks I know people who collect action figures from tv shows or films. These are people in their 20's, 30's, 40's or older. What do they do with them? Well they probably don't spend their time going 'bang, whizz, feel the force Luke' or whatever. Or maybe they do. Who knows. Either way they get some enjoyment from owning these things. Football fans get some pleasure from endlessly discussing the topic until you want to scream. Mind you I support Tranmere Rovers so that's why I can't get pleasure from that avenue. Unless somebody is discussing the Gatas of course but that's exceptionally unlikely considering how nobody I know here in the 'real' world even knows who they are. People who like art may have a picture on their wall. What do they do with that? Look at it every now and again and get some pleasure from that. Well either that or walk past it every day without even noticing it until one day they suddenly look up and go 'oh I forgot about that'. Either way there's not really much difference between enjoying a painting and enjoying a photobook.
What do people do with photobooks? Well that must vary person to person. For me normally I look and just enjoy the beauty on show. Generally that's not really even a sexual thing as these girls are marketed to be cute and virginal. The books are shot really well and the girls can be breathtaking. Unless their name happens to be Reina the pictures don't tend to be too much of a come on to me though. Reina is the exception but that's more to do with her yankii persona mixed with some really sexy outfits. It's possibly more to do with my preconceived idea of her personality than the pics themselves. Oh and also Eri in a bikini certainly makes you want to run away and elope. I'm not sure that's really a likely option though. Even then though it's not particularly sexual. The preconceived idea of the personality comes to the fore and keeps your thoughts more on the side of love than lust. At the end of the day I think most fans respect these girls enough to not just see them as sex objects. I don't think there's anything dirty about seeing them in a bikini or whatever. It's more about beauty than anything sleazy. If you want sleazy buy a lads mag like Nuts instead. Now really I'd like to know what people do with them. They can't be reading them surely?
Comment by Matt_D on Monday, 28th July 2008 21:48Another note of course is that the persons chosen Idol(s) may not simply fit the predictable "Girlfriend/Wife" scenario, they can equally fit Sister, Daughter or childhood friendideals too.
Reina is very much the longed for love/Wife/Childhood friend "ideal" too me. Where as Erepyon (AKB48 member) fits the "younger sister" ideal.
Not quite old enough to be picking out daughter ideals though.
Comment by Steve on Monday, 28th July 2008 22:22It's official, you are my hero Chris.
Comment by paul.thomas on Monday, 28th July 2008 23:00Hahahaha, so what happened to that text on Wednesday night..."Blog post going live tonight"? Lol, no worries since when was either actually on time for anything, I can't normally even make it round yours for the time I say.
I take quite a few of your remarks with a pinch of salt, now I know you say you're not a fan of H!P but to a certain extent I think you are, not only do you have a favourite member within Morning Musume, you've also a favourite within C-ute, Maimi. I know you're reasoning for both don't really go deeper than looks, but you're still got your faves. Actually I think I'm going to have to take that comment back about just basing it on looks as I seem to remember you was a fan of the clips of Hello!Morning with Kamei and Mikitty (another one of your faves), surely you enjoyed these clips more than just the eyecandy they provided, the clips were hilarious! Plus there's no denying you're liking of C-ute's Lalala Shiawase no Uta single, at some point I will manage to get a clip of you singing and dancing along to it, I just need to be sneaky about it ;p
I like to think that between us we're fairly even with putting up with each others 'hobbies', in actual fact I think that perhaps you've done alright out of the whole thing, there's only so long I can enjoy looking at clothes ;p
I know we've had this dicussion before and I know you don't belive me, but to me H!P is more than just the looks of the girls, I'm not going to deny that they play their part, but when it comes to the H!P girls if anything their personalities play more of a part as to why I like who I like more than anything else. And I think my votes in the poll reflect that, just taking my results for Morning Musume as an example if it were based solely on looks Reina and Aichan wouldn't be as low as they are. Lol, you're feelings towards both Mittsi and Chisato are made clear all to often, Moon Face is such a harsh name to give her, lol, I remember watching the Making Of footage from Seishun! LOVE Lunch and you making comments. Mittsi's voice is still my most favourite part about her, I really love it, she's still my fave member from those auditions and I'm really glad she made it in. Chisato's boyish looks are something that have at times bugged me, but I must admit to recently really growing to like her looks and thinking that they actually suit her really well
The whole PB debate is another ongoing talk that we have, for the most part the PB sit on my side with me hoping that they don't suddenly fall off their shelf and get damaged, I'd hate to damage them in anyway and just the thought of the pages getting stuck together is enough to get the idea of doing anything other than looking at the pictures out of my head ;p
As for posting more posts, you know you're more than welcome, a different point of view is always a good thing, especially when it doesn't conform to the majority of others out there.
Comment by Matt_D on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 00:47Reina is all about personality and style. With the fringe benefit that she's really pretty.
Spring DVD was epic (lots of Reina, which cheers me up no end) and just putting the down payment on Berrys and Morning Musume tickets ke' lucky it's payday soon.
Comment by Felice on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 03:55I understand where you are coming from, but honestly you named two of my favorite girls! There are certain members of H!P that I would like to kick in the head, namely Koharu (sorry, Paul). It's all in personal opinion though so I don't mind who you'd like to kick in the head.
I agree about Eri being one of the prettiest, but I wouldn't say she's THE prettiest. I think Reina and Sayu are gorgeous but it's a different kind of pretty.
Comment by XiTaU on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 04:18Its a good and interesting debate going on and it seems if you know members names and can recognize them in a lineup you must be somewhat of a fan by now :). You cant say you hate one member and then say we are crazy not to like another without having a little bit of H!P love in you.
I understand him ramming it down your throat but in your rants i can see a bit of love in it and soon im sure you will join the bandwagon especially if you keep posting on here.
The members you hate will grow on you Mitsui has grown on me quite a lot i think she has just been over shadowed by the Chinese arrivals.
I hope to see you post in the future and im sure week by week you will have accepted it more and more until the acceptance has turned you to wotadom too.
Comment by Kizoku on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 05:18I just want to give you a high five, Chris. A lot of the things you said resonated with what my friend and I have been saying for a long time. Just as a personal opinion, my friend and I always wanted to kick Okada Yui in the face. It's the same as with you and Okai Chisato. So when I read about how you wanted to "stand on a stool and kick her in the head," I just couldn't stop laughing at the imagery. I just always think of Shida Mirai from "14 Sai no Haha" when I see Chisato, though. But still, it's just funny to hear that other people want to kick certain H!P members in the head just like us from a different part of the world.
I also share the same opinion with you about Mitsui Aika. I barely ever refer to her by name. I usually call her "sandok" which means "food-scooper" in my language. She apparently took the honors of protruding chin in MoMusu after Rika left.
And thank you for pointing out Eri. More people need to open their eyes.
Comment by Rad on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 07:26Intriguing perspective, Chris. Actually, I am total agreement with you on the photobook phenomenon. I'm addicted enough to the DVDs, and I would likely lose my mind if photobooks started showing up on my doorstep. As for Chisato, she is a power voice and an astonishing talent for so tiny a singer. Top-notch dancer and signature ear-to-ear smile. But you do have a point with Aika. She is ... OK, and that's about it. However, part opf the charm of Hello! Project is to see average-looking and average-sounding singers blossom into superstars and, unfortunately, Aika is being packaged in such a way as to be endearing to the fans. But ... I loved your post, Chris, and next time, try to avoid falling asleep in the middle of the concert!

Comment by bulmasman on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 16:50Honestly, i think Chris should get a regular segment on here :D It's interesting to see some of the reactions that took his comments completely the wrong way and jumped on the defense, but it's nice to see the majority of us could have a good laugh and discussion about thoughts that oppose what we enjoy ^^
Oh and for the record, i pick my favourite members based on voice, personality, looks and everything else rolled into one.
Comment by Frox on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 20:29^2nd that, it was nice to read something from someone standing at the 'other side'. Chris should indeed get his own segment, giving his opinion on idol/h!p - related things.

Comment by nono-chan on Tuesday, 29th July 2008 22:25well someone was saying that they didn't like how aika's voice was so thiis is what she said for the poketmorning of the week. the question was, in morning musume what are you in charge of? this was aika's awnser:
"In charge of seeming like an old woman!!
That wasn't my intention, but I get told this
all the time!! Well, I think it has to do
with the characteristic Kansai way of talking
and the sound of my voice."
XD how ironic!
Comment by The Chris on Wednesday, 30th July 2008 01:46Again just to make the point clear the "kicking in the head" part wasn't literal, it was a metaphor for my hate . . . . . . but thinking about it maybe it would make an amusing segment on one of there TV shows.
There seems to be a lot of Reina fans here, hmmmmm this also gets me thinking . . . .
Thank you everyone for your kind words, if it is ok with Paul then maybe, when H!P news is quiet I may make more posts.
@Kizoku: Sandok!!! Awesome!! I shall use that from now on!
@Felice : Koharu I feel may well get her own post, since she is Pauls fav a fact that continually confuses me.
@XiTaU: I have a theory as to why Mitsui was over shadowed by the Chinese arrivals. It may because they do not have moon faces lol
@Matt_D & Morningtime: What you both said has got me really interested now, I have answers to some of your points but I feel that may well wait for another post. I may even contact certain people here (if anyone's up for it) to ask a few questions on the subject. Investigative journalism.
Comment by Matt_D on Wednesday, 30th July 2008 10:32I like to think of myself as a Reina Fanatic. *Awaits photos from Yahoo Japan*
Incoherient rambling is a talent of mine.
Comment by Hammi on Thursday, 31st July 2008 21:47o: I'm definately a H!P fan, but there are certainly things within H!P I'd disagree with. ^^ One is definately why Kamei isn't more popular. xD (Her & Gaki being my favourite members at the moment....)
:( Okai is funny!! ^^ Don't kick her..... =3=// (slap)
Gah, photobooks are...well, for me, since I'm just a young girl (not saying how young, gwah~~), I'd look at the outfits (xD) or hairstyles and think how pretty they are. XD But I'm pretty sure that's not what the majority of wota are like.... >_>
(Oh, and I apologize for the overuse of faces, but when I start talking a lot, I can't help but use them. D: )
Comment by Aaron on Friday, 1st August 2008 03:10C'mon now! Kicking a girl? That's low. Are you really that short (or fat) that you have to stand on a stool to kick her in the face? She's only 5'0".
Niigaki Risa is my choice for cutest Morning Musume member. Suzuki Airi is the cutest (and best singer) in °C-ute and Sugaya Risako is the cutest in Berryz Koubou.
As for Tsunku, I can agree. He's kind of a freak, as many musicians are, but he's a bloody genius at coming up with J-Pop hits. Yes, he writes most of the songs in addition to choosing the girls.
Calling Mitsui Aika "moonface" is just mean. She is a very cute girl with an adorable smile and a great personality. So her face is round? I'm sure YOU are not perfect either.
In my book, Asian girls get +2 points, making all the Hello! Project girls that much cuter and adorable.
Comment by MorningBerryz on Sunday, 10th August 2008 07:42LOL! I'm so deep into everything H!P like Paul but your post still rocks! :P I would seriously love to hear more from you in the future as brutal honesty is good for the soul sometimes...or maybe it just cracks me up so!!!
Ouch for the most part!!! :O But YAY for Kamei my favorite Momusu member!!! (^o^)/
Comment by paul.thomas on Monday, 11th August 2008 01:07I pestered Chris last week to write another post (and I'll be doing it again this week), so hopefully we'll be seeing another one sometime soon. I was kinda disappointed that I didn't record our conversation as we chatted for a good long while on PBs and their use, as I say must of been a good 30 min conversation. Oh well next time perhaps, lol.
