Kill Me Kiss Me Limited CD

Hangry & Angry's debut mini album has been a source of great excitement for me since I've heard of it's release, the promise that two graduating members from the Elder Club will be active and not only active but with such a unique sound that it's going to be hard to ignore them, then there's the added bonus of the possibility of the European and US tours...who hasn't been excited about this? Well I know someone who has been just as excited as me about this release, Hexi.
Me and Hexi have had a little thing going on with this release, a race to see whose copy would arrive first and what did the winner get? The right to gloat and laugh at how awful the others postman is. With both of us living in the UK and ordering it from Ohta there wasn't really going to be much in it...until that is I forget to pay Ohta for the shipping! Luckily I managed to get the cash over to him and my copy headed out from Japan a day later than Hexi's. Monday morning came and I'm sitting in front of the PC chatting away on MSN when the door bell rings, it's Mr.Postman with a little parcel! I jump back on MSN and proceeded to get ready to gloat...

Tom [11:37:01] : ...i think...i may...just possibly...have had...my Hangry and Angry CD Delivered...
Hexi [11:37:03] : Mwahahahahaha!
Hexi [11:37:08] : guess what just got delivered?
Hexi [11:37:30] : ...how is that possible both at the same time? O.o?

So what's the chances of that? I can understand getting them on the same day, but literally within seconds of each other! Neither of us earning the right to gloat we both dived into look at our wonderful new purchase...well Hexi did, I had to first break through the layers of tape.
Having the day before seen some photos of the packaging over at MorningBerryz site and marvelled at how wonderful it looked, I was slightly worried that perhaps my copy may have been kicked around the postal depot (I've had a bit of bad luck lately with damaged DVD packaging, with order from YesAsia and CDJapan) but with the usual wonderful packaging from Ohta I had nothing to worry about, it turned up in perfect condition.

There can be no denying how wonderful the packaging is for this, the tin although being slightly smaller than I had imagined is great to look at. Pink on one side with the cartoon cat faces of Hangry & Angry, whilst black on the other with larger pictures of the Hangry & Angry characters. The case is quite literally covered with the branded designs of Hangry & Angry, but this doesn't distract from either Yossie or Charmy as both do a great a job of looking like these characters within the inlay of the CD.
The tin is able to be opened from both sides giving easy access to both the CD and the added luggage tag (it is a luggage tag right?) and although I'll probably never use the luggage tag like most of my H!P extras it's a great bonus.

The booklet included with the CD features some really great shots of both Hitomi and Rika both taking on their characters style perfectly and when you take a look at the character designs I find it hard to imagine any other members in H!P taking on these roles as both really suit their characters perfectly. Yossie, with her great looks but with that slight masculine look that's always been there she fits right into the Hangry character. With Charmy taking on the role as Angry her ever cute character merging with the darker character of Angry works really well and I think the PV for the title track Kill Me Kiss Me(Kill Me Kiss Me Full PV + WALL FLOWER Preview) really goes to show how great they are in character.

With the unique way the album has been promoted, previews on both Myspace and Oricon have really got me wanting to hear the songs in full, so much so that I couldn't hold out until the CD arrived and so seeing that it had been put on iTunes for the wonderfully low price of £3.95 the need to show my support from the UK and the need to listen to the album in full was both accomplished with one quick buy.
The quality of all the tracks included on the mini album are exceptional with Angelia being my favourite, when it starts up it sounds great but it's not until it get's half way into it that it really kicks in. The one problem I have at the moment is my inability to have it playing as loud as it should be, the whole album has a sound to it that I feel would greatly be improved if I was able to turn it up full blast, unfortunately at the moment not wanting to disturb anyone with super loud JRock I have to wait until I get the time to clean out my iPod and put it on there.

Looking through the team that helped make the album it was interesting to see that as well as sharing a label with GaGaalinG a couple of members have helped with the programming, bass, guitars and backing vocals. This just adds to the excitement and possibility of a tour more closer to home. With them appearing at this years Anime Expo in LA and with their album royal Stranger being released in Europe and with their comments about wanting to return and perfom in the US again and come to Europe it seems likely that if they do Yossie and Charmy could be in tow :)

I have to admit it looks way better than I expected it to be o,o I mean, WAY better. I think I'm beginning to like Rika Ishikawa more in this release; as time passes I find myself thinking of her whenever I see Angry.

While you're scared of playing a random JRock/JPop sensation around, just imagine how pissed my parents get when I blast Malice Mizer, the GazettE, or Gackt around when I get one of those JRock/Visual Kei urges. Yeah, it doesn't exactly get pretty, haha. Esp. with Gackt, since everybody knows how obsessed I am with him. I recently ordered his calendar, and my mom threw a fit. ._. I wonder if she'd be happier if I ordered a C-ute one? Haha, then she'd complain about the price. I do not have a peaceful household ;p

Truly some of the best packaging ever and for a debut release! I'm so happy that your copy arrived safe and sound...(pats mail courier on the head....wait that's weird... :P ). All five songs are excellent and there's so much to ♥ in how Yossi and Rikachan's images have been re-invented outside of H!P. ^ ^ So cute!...you and Hexi were racing! ^ ^

Mine arrived Monday too, but I don't know what time since I'm living in student accommodation where everything just gets dumped at the main desk for them to sort out. It's funny imagining all the UK fans simultaneously getting their packages from Ohta though! XD

The tin's smaller than I was expecting too... still big enough to not fit in my CD holder very easily though! :P

I often worry about things getting broken in the post, but Ohta's packaging is always brilliant. I guess he knows that people don't want to spend a lot of money only to have it broken in the post. If he didn't package things well and it got broken in the post, it would look really bad on him and people would go elsewhere. I bought a set of cheap H!P singles from eBay once and the seller just put one layer of bubble wrap around them, wrapped it in brown paper and sent it like that. When it arrived, half the CD cases were completely destroyed. If I hadn't paid so little for them, I would have been sooo annoyed.

Well that looks damn nice Ive been meaning to give the rest of the album a listen to maybe sometime in the near future. Would love to see someone walking to work with one of them im sure it would pull a few heads.

I wonder why they picked that packaging is it because they expect big things in the future and hope putting a bit more time and effort into a LE release will appeal to the market. Actually i dont really care as it looks like a worthy collectors item and im chuffed they are spending time and idea's on the soon to be former elder club members to continue the 4th's gens dominance of the market again :)

Kazuro, the tin is amazing it's such a great incentive to offer. And I so agree with you Rika looks like so much like the Angry character. Yossie also looks like the Hangry character as well, they've done a really great job at styling the girls.
Lol always a pain when ever you want to play music loud there's generally always someone around that doesn't want to listen to it :( I still need to order a calendar for next year, I'm still thinking it'll be the Morning Musume one although I'd love to get a C-ute one, this year for me has all been about C-ute.

Hexi, I know still can't believe they were delivered at practiaclly the same time, perhaps our postmen were reading this and thought they'd best try and keep things civil by making them arrive together lol. Yeah same here everything is boxed up inside and it's sitting on my shelf :) I'm guessing it has to be a luggage tag, but the string (umm, not to sure what else to call it) is it bit long for luggage, kinda like you're meant to wear it around your neck...but we all know our names and where we live right?... well unless we've been out on an all nighter.

MorningBerryz, yeah for a debut it's great...well on saying in general it'd be great, it's just more so. It arrived in the usual excellent packaging Ohta provides, maybe a little too excellent as it to me awhile to break through the tape haha. Such a great album and an amazing image for both girls, fingers crossed they'll be some more releases from them under this unit.

nya, lol would have been funny and ever so slightly scary if they did, although it would be amazing if they did. Yeah I've never had a problem with Ohta before either when it comes ot packaging, it's always so nicely done, I just got worried that I was going to have a dent in the side of it or something :S Ahh, that's a real pain about the CDs luckily I haven't had any problems with any of my eBay purchases, but a purchase through YesAsia had to be my most upsetting, in no way YesAsia's thought as they always bubble wrap there parcels well, but it looked as if someone had jumped on it, bug dirty footprint on one side and a shattered DVD case in the inside, but I have a ton of spare ones so it wasn't that bad.

Xitau, give it a listen if you haven't already it's such a great album, I can't recomment it enough! If I saw someone carrying one of these to work I'd have to go and chat to them, no way I could stop myself. I saw a guy awhile back near Waterloo station in a Aichan shirt but I was on the bus, so would of loved to have gone over and say hey.
I'm hoping that it's a mix of big things from the unit and the Hangry and Angry brand really wanting to promote themselves well through the unit. A mix of both would be great as it would mean that with the brand pushing them we'd see more and more of them, I'd love to see a full length album from them.

Although I cant bring myself to like this single or unit I must admit this lunchbox idea is awesome, I wish the berryz would do something like this.

I am blown away by how good this album is. I previewed the title track but shied away from everything else until the whole thing was available. Yossie and Rika have a great sound, collectively, better than I could have predicted. I'm watching my spending so I got it thru iTunes, but I'm awful jealous of those who got the lunchbox version. I'll just drown my sorrows in the new SPEED and Perfume singles and Cover Yuu. Pepper Keibu sounds better every time I hear it... that moment when it switches from 'classic' to 'modern' gives me the goosebumps.
