Hello!Project 2009 Poll

First let me start by apologizing to anybody that's been waiting for this, I've been so delayed in getting this finished it's unbelievable, but finding myself with a bit of extra free time the past few days (and actually settling with a design, I've had almost 3 working versions of this before, but just not liked how it looked) I've found that I was able to work solidly on it for a whole day and night, it certainly explains why I'm so tired lol, up till nearly 5am last night trying to make sure everything was working.
This poll is slightly different to the previous two and I've done it because this will be the last chance to do it, so much so that even putting up now is cutting close to the edge, probably too close!
Unlike the previous two polls where it's been a matter of ranking groups (Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou and C-ute) this, features all current members of Hello!Project. The idea being that we rank out Top 10 favourite members. You can now see with the Elder Club graduating in 4 days, why it needs to go up now.

The poll will run for two weeks, closing on the 10th and results will be published a few days after this date, I don't want to specify an exact date as it always taken longer than expected when working through the results.

solo-kun, the first design was order ALL of the members and after messing around with it, I realised it was too hard too decide, the second design was as you said each unit, but again it was a long task plus I really wanted to know the results of H!P as a whole, so i went back to the original idea but limiting the amount you could chose, but you're right it's still tough.

nya, lol just choosing 10 does make it that much harder ;p ah, order...yeah it's done in the order of first is the fave and the last is your 10th fave, had some troubles with the reordering so i left it so that you can remove them completely by clicking on them and then reclicking them back in, hmm i was wondering if the lack of numbers on the boxes was a bit unobvious, think I may have to alter that when I get a second tonight.

I was also wondering, how are you planning on getting to Stockholm? I've been looking at flights and so far I've found out that I could get there from Stansted but it would take at least 3 hours longer, or from Heathrow but it would cost about £40 more...

just one thing, the resulting images for previous polls were smaller and could be used for signatures in forums, and they were, but these new formats are much bigger, I'll have to downscale them XD.

Nope to try an limit multiple posts from the same account it'll only allow one vote per email account, if you want to email and let me know your email address I can go in and remove it for you so you can resubmit them.

As for Stockholm, I'm flying out on the Friday a little later than most people I think, the plane leaves Heathrow at 10:35am, I think it's 2 and half hour flight.

Xacur, yeah these images are a little on the large side, it was really awkward trying to get them into a nice size, but I'll have another look at generating a third smaller image tonight, i'll get it to work similar to how the other images work and so it should just be a matter of replacing the last letter before '.jpg' with a 's', once it's done I'll let eveyone know

I have a question. How does this poll count Koharu? Since she is listed in MM and Milky Way will the poll be able to separate between the two? Like will the results show both Koharu from MM and Milky Way or will it add the two choices together in the end.

I never like trying to rank H!P members because I feel painfully unqualified to do so. Poor Matt_D, he can only vote for Reina once.

It'll be an overall thing, it looked a little odd having Milky Way without Koha in the line up, if you click on her she become unselectable in the other unit, the only difference between the two is what outfit she appears in when the automatic image is generated at the end.

Matt_D, lol life's so much more fun when you've no idea what's exactly happening I find...what worries me is that I feel that way at the moment and I'm the one that's organised it all for me and Chris :S

Paul you...git. I've just been staring at the screen for the longest time. Ten only? Even once deciding on who will be in the top ten it's still bloody tough deciding on a final order. Nevertheless it's done. It's been done, changed, changed again, thought about and not changed, changed, changed back to what it was when I thought about it and didn't change it and then finally thought about some more and left as is. That was tough. It's taken me close to two hours to do it and make a post on my own blog about it. It's lucky thinking about H!P members is so enjoyable. :D

I've tried on two computers now and I can't get all the members for each group to show up. (Like with Ice Creamusume, it only goes to ReiRei, Guu-chan is hidden and I can't make the window any larger. xD Same for The last two 8th Gen in MM, some of Ongaku Gatas, etc.)

Aww, I was kind of hoping to rank each and every unit. xD

Although, choosing a top 10 out of all H!P is really tough, one thing I felt happen was there was one chosen form each section of mine, so basically I just chose my favourite out of each unit in my favourite order of the units - if that makes sense!

And technically, Tsukishima Kirari is a different idol from Kusumi Koharu. =P

I'm mesmerised by watching a plethora of idols zoom by me.

What an awesome poll! Like you said earlier, a number on each of the 10 slots would have made it much clearer that the order is ranked. Wasn't sure if that was the case until I got to this comment thread:) Shame there is no option for ex-member so I could add Aibon to complete my top ten list. Never mind, still plenty of choice to fill in the list.

Wow, thanks for everyone whose taken the poll so far, don't forget to spread the word!

Right, I've made a couple of changes to the poll, I've replaced the graphics so they're now numbered hopefully that'll make it easier for people who havent' taken the poll yet and I've also created a new smaller image, which should hopefully solve Xacur's problem of using the end image as a signature on forums, let me know if the size is ok. It'll appear when completeing the poll along with the long and tall images, anyone wanting to use the smaller image who have already voted can do so with a slight change to the image URL, by changing the last letter before the '.jpg' to an s, so for example if your image was http://www.helloblog.co.uk/vote3/images/2287061756cl.jpg all you would need to is change it to http://www.helloblog.co.uk/vote3/images/2287061756cs.jpg

Sorry Paul I wasn't going to say anything because I felt all I could say was already posted, but then I saw something from Japanfiles and all I can say is you deserve all the praise and gratitude from all of us. Everything you have done hasn't gone unnoticed as it was as I was extremly surprised by japanfiles little email. Hexi, I didn't forget Ayaya, but the poll was so close to going live with Nono on it :S I literally realised as I jumped in bed after finishing it.

paul.thomas, though I can't be the first to suggest an all-time H!P poll, thank you for putting this idea into consideration.

It would be most interesting to see such results for a given point of time. I mean, anyone can go to the forums and check the "favorite Musume" thread(s). But in some cases they've been running for several years, back when the 8 gen girls weren't even there.. Also not everybody can be a fanclub member or buy stuff so those rankings don't really relate to international fandom.

10 spots might be quite an obstacle in such case, expanding it to 12 or 15 would probably help people :) The question of whether to include the eggs that haven't been in any group, would arise as well.

MorningBerryz, thanks, I enjoy the coding so much so it's always so good to see people taking part and appreciating it, makes it all worthwhile. Lol, yeah the top 10 does make it a little hard to choose, but that's half the fun (in an evil awkward kind of way lol). My fingers are tightly crossed that you'll come back to blogging sometime soon.

Helmi, yeah I've just realised that Buono! wasn't on there, but I guess with all the members appearing in other groups they still remain selectable.

Mieko, glad to hear you've enjoyed it, I'll no doubt be putting up another poll on the future, although quite possibly not for a little while, got some other ideas I want to have mess around with before hand and if I actually get around to finish any of them expect to find them posted up on here.

Right, I even confused myself as to when the poll is finishing...was it 2 hours ago or in another 20? Well, the easy answer is I'm of too bed now so the poll will end midnight tonight GMT so if you haven't voted (by the amount that have taken part fingers crossed everyone has) you haven't got long left to get your vote in.....Can't wait to see who comes out on top!

I speak in no official capacity as far as when the results will be announced, but it'll be up when it's up. Tom's got stuff to do but this has gotta be one of his priorities. I'll post the results up next week at some point, probably mid week, so I'm guessing Wednesday or Thursday. I'm sorting through all the data at the moment, having a bit of problem with working out the countries, lol but i won't bore people with the specifics, all very geeky, but fingers crossed that should be sorted by tonight.
Lol, but trucker hats are cool ;p well I should be putting a post up tonight hopefully, was listening to C-ute's Bye Bye Bye last night and realised I haven't posted about it yet, so I think that'll be my next one.

Interesting top ten Emily, a good mix in there and it's great to see Mittsi in there, lol the only things I hear about her is negative things, although i gotta admit i laughed when it was decided that this weekend meet up with H!P fans that was originally named after Koha got 'down graded' to a Mittsi weekend XD

Hmmm, I guess it's about that time of year when I should be thinking about the next poll, time to dig out my note book and pencils :D
