Kakumei Gannen ~Hello Chanpuru~ Tour Merchandise

Saturday, 25th July 2009 02:21

Well, this sucks! I've managed to spend the amount of money I set aside for the month for stuff, moving sucks on the whole money front. I got to buy paint and toasters and shit instead of fancy H!P Tshirts and other merchandise :(
Although saying that, I may have to delve into the cash I'd put away to get one the shirts from this tour as they're something quite special. As ever the images of the shirts aren't of a great quality so it's hard to see exactly what they look like, but the impressive thing with these is that the front are multi-coloured, I don't think that I've seen a multicoloured concert shirt ever? I'm fairly certain I don't own one...I'll have to double check when I get in.
As ever the prices are a little on the steep side, with postage and packaging you're looking at just under £50 for one shirt. Hmmm, damn this sodding exchange rate!
I wonder what the prices will be like when Hello Store USA becomes live? Hopefully things will be a little cheaper. But at the same time what will happen to Ohta, if we're all buying goods through the store, and why wouldn't we? Again like buying through JapanFiles buying through them will enable UFA to see how much support (and money) fans outside of Asia can give, fingers crossed Ohta will still be around, certainly recently I've been using him more for buying things directly from Yahoo! Auctions than through his eBay store. Hmmm, no doubt I'll always use him to make sure I get tickets to concerts when I get the chance to head out to Japan.

I hadn't heard of that USA site until you mentioned it. Being as it's Japanfiles though won't it just be for American customers?

commentComment by paul.thomas on Saturday, 25th July 2009 11:08
From what I understand they'll be shipping worldwide (well almost guessing they won't be allowed to ship to Japan etc where theryre already selling H!P merchandise. The music is only America because of the license/distribution rights, concert merch should be cool to ship here. Well fingers crossed!

commentComment by Morningtime on Saturday, 25th July 2009 11:16
Ah well that would be quite cool then. Anything that makes merchandise more affordable is fine by me.

commentComment by nao on Saturday, 25th July 2009 15:11
It would be great if they would sell all the stuff outside of japan too, it would be win win, we get our fix and they get more money.

Arghh look at that Manoeri towel... must resist... *runs off to send ohta a email*

Paul are you planning on buying one of those 40th single collaboration t-shirts? These ones:

commentComment by momo on Saturday, 25th July 2009 16:22
@CDevil, I plan to get one, I sent Ohta an email yesterday. Are you getting one?

commentComment by paul.thomas on Saturday, 25th July 2009 16:26
Morningtime, yea anything that can lower the costs is good, but then I wonder how cheaper it will be? What with places like CDJapan and YesAsia being expensive at the moment as well, I guess it's all about the exchange rate at the moment, at least it's slowly sortin g itself out.

Nao, lol I think the worrying thing could be instead of having more money well probably ending up spending the Sam just have more stuff lol!
Hahaha I'm guessing you didn't resist to well I you're sending off an email to Ohta ;P

CDevil, I was looking at them the other night and was tempted to get one of the White ones, but...trying to save....saving is so sodding hard when you're a H!P fan!!
Oh, if you're around in the week wanna get that drink we keep chatting about lol, let me know London or local alls good for me, although London might be better, might even be able to drag some other H!P fans along I they're interested? Haha I can prolly get Chris to come along and you can witness his H!P hatred first hand XD

commentComment by CDevil on Saturday, 25th July 2009 18:58
@momo: yeah i'm definitely interested in buying one of the white shirts, it looks great. However the price is pretty ridiculous, especially since the commission Ohta will be charging is something like 1500yen excluding p+p. i'm gonna buy it anyway but was hoping other UK people would be buying some too, maybe we could order together so we can split the commission and shipping costs?

@paul: "I was looking at them the other night and was tempted to get one of the White ones, but...trying to save" <- This in a post talking about you spending money on tour goods XD

I don't know, i hardly ever (read: never) buy any merchandise, but unlike any other H!P shirts I've seen, i can actually wear this one normally without feeling too embarrassed :D There's gonna be many many more H!P tours to buy merchandise for, but this is the ONLY time they'll be celebrating their 40th single, and probably the ONLY time they'll be collaborating with someone else to make merchandise, and maybe even the ONLY time they'll spend time helping to design the shirts themselves. Do the right thing paul. DO THE RIGHT THING!

And sure I should be around during the week, so grabbing a few drinks sounds good :) im cool with London, but can also do anywhere local too.

I wear mine all over the place - nobody knows who Tanaka Reina is. Gotta be better then wearing a football t-shirt though I find something very odd about men wearing another mans name on their chest.

However I'm not big on group merch - also it's red and red == koha in my mind and I don't like that idea. I could buy the berryz one. May get the Mano towel as well from yahoo auctions.

Also CDevil, the comments here don't parse so if you use a character that's sql or html you may loose everything after it.

commentComment by momo on Saturday, 25th July 2009 20:36
@CDevil, As for me, I live in the US so for me to order with you guys sort of may not work. I reserved the black shirt, somehow it was a choice between white or black for me, pink is just too girly for my taste. lol.

He wants 5990 yen (about £38.50 and $63 US) for the shirt if anyone didn't know that. I got like 11 concert shirts at home starting all the way back in 06 with Rainbow 7 but this one is a rarity for sure.

commentComment by momo on Saturday, 25th July 2009 20:39
I forgot to add that I have also tried to find the MM in USA shirt from Anime expo but I haven't seen it around. Maybe someone knows where it is sold.

commentComment by BladeMaster on Sunday, 26th July 2009 00:09
To Matt_D: you are the king for wearing Reina's t-shirt everywhere.

The cool thing about the 40th single shirt is that they offer different sizes, I'm good for an S.

commentComment by paul.thomas on Sunday, 26th July 2009 14:57
CDevil, I know...the past few weeks it's been a constant battle as to whether I buy merchandise or not and it's one where I'm not entierly sure if I'm winning or losing lol. I'm certailny still buying merchandise but no where near as much as I usually get, I'll prolly end up buying one of the shirts, but not both, although saying that.... :S
Much like Matt_D I wear my H!P shirts all the time, they're pretty much all the shirts are wear, well except for my Motorhead one...not really a fan, but the shirt is just awesome! Had the pleasures of explaining why I was at party last night with a 6 with the 6's inside it, sign of the devil? Nope it's an Ai no Dai 6 Kan tour promo shirt, lol.
Ah sorry about the comment chopping, it's a mix of a crap PHP function and my laziness...maily the laziness as I can't be bored to write a script that just remove valid HTML...maybe I'll give it a go a little later.
I guess I'll see you online at some point to arrange a drink.

momo, ah Momo come over to the pink side! I really like pink Sayu shirt it's cool, get one!! If I get one I'll be getting a white on I think H!P shirts very rarely seem to come in white, so it's cool to get something different.

BladeMaster, the sizes are cool, although it makes it a tough one for me, M or L I generally like my clothes on the baggy so I'm guessing L for me?

@ Matt_D's: "I find something very odd about men wearing another mans name on their chest."

Funny you should mention that. A few weeks back my boss was wearing an (American) football jersey with a player's name on it. A female football-watcher stops him in the aisle and says, "Is that your guy?" He replies, "yeah..." I find it strange that cheering for cute little Japanese girls isn't considered as 'manly' as cheering on big sweaty guys.

I don't mean to change the subject. Like all the other H!P t-shirts I think I'll pass, only because those perfectly nice shirts have done nothing to deserve me befouling them with my sweat.

commentComment by Hexi on Wednesday, 29th July 2009 11:58
it'd be pretty cool if they did ship to the UK. but i bet it'll be suuuuuuper expensive. Y_Y just spent £20 on a Linlin phone strap. but it's awesome so i guess i don't care.

the multicoloured shirts are cool though. although if the design was bigger it'd be better. XD

hooray for different sizes! no more tents! XD i might get a H!P shirt thaty fits. how odd that the japanese are teeny and they only sell shirts in large..... or is that just because the smaller sizes sell out adn we're left with the huge ones???

commentComment by Matt_D on Wednesday, 29th July 2009 12:21
I'm pretty sure they have large and small at concerts. Can't remember clearly though.

commentComment by paul.thomas on Wednesday, 29th July 2009 12:27
When I got my V-u-den shirt at the concert, they didn't ask for a size they just gave me the shirt (which was a large) now as to whether that's the standard if you don't ask, or they just look at me and went "look at the fat bugger, he'll need a large" I've no idea.
I doubt that it'll be super expensive, expensive yes but I'd imagine (and hope) that it would be cheaper than buying from the likes of Yahoo!Auctions and possibly Ohta. If it's not then the only advantage to using the shop is the sales reports JapanFiles and UFA can pull from them, if the price is the same as Ohta then it's a tough one, Ohta's service is second to none the guy provides an amazing service.

Yahoojp you can get some great deals but I'm lazy and it's agro. Although I'm kicking myself over the Reina photos.

@Jun, can you try and make your comments understandable? The way you say them, some people cannot understand what you say.

commentComment by paul.thomas on Saturday, 1st August 2009 11:25
Jun, I'm with you on the whole usa HP store, as I think are most people hopefully it'll be online sometime soon. :) I think that's the first time anyone's said I have good tast in music, the majority of my friends (well I say that, I mean all) look on my taste in music as it's a bit on the odd side lol

momo, I'm guessing that english isn't jun's first language, so don't be harsh and it's fairly easy to understand.

commentComment by momo on Saturday, 1st August 2009 16:03
If you think i'm harsh, I will have to disagree with you. That was not my intent and I was only pointing out "hard to understand english". If you wish to talk to me about this further, please do it offline.

Might be a little late. But I went to the concert.
Bought the MM set.
So I got the basic black, MM's Red. and extra Mano's Pink and Yurina's Green T-shirts.
Also bought Mano's towel with a bunch of the basic pic sets.

Oh, and the concert was great. ^_^/

We're finalizing the initial product list this week, so you guys should see an announcement from us very soon about the products we'll have in our first wave.

Everyone's feedback is important, and we'll be introducing different products and increased quantities based on user feedback.

As for pricing, we are going to attempt to match the Japanese Yen retail price as closely as possible, with slight adjustments for exchange rate and shipping.

commentComment by paul.thomas on Tuesday, 18th August 2009 12:22
Really looking forward to the what you'll be getting in! Pricing sounds good as well!
Can't wait to check it all out!
