Boooooooooo!

That is aimed directly at
Viddler, who wonderously and without any prompting not only removed all of my uploaded videos but also my account, thanks guys!
Oh well, it happens to all of us at some point. But I had thought that Viddler was a safe haven for the vids as I'd never received any copyright infringement emails, like I did on Veoh... Although I never got any emails about any actual
Hello! Project videos from Veoh just ones which featured members on TV shows, the PVs and the like always seemed to be fairly happy on there.
So it's time to hunt for another video hosting site that has an equal amount of cool features as Viddler, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, if possibly I want to stay away from both YouTube and Veoh I don't really get on too well with either of them, I can't stand the YouTube player and the quality of Veoh seems to have dropped stupidly since I first started using it... which is a real shame as I still rate as one of the most feature rich players (but the adverts got annoying as well...are they still there?).
Well this means that the fancy new video section I sat down and worked on when improving the site is now pretty much defunct until I get the videos back up, tagged and searchable. I may just upload them straight to my site, at least that way I know one can remove them, but it does mean however I have to write myself a complete video search, tagging (and all that stuff) facility, lol I was kinda hoping for a quiet Xmas but it looks like I may be stuck in front of my laptop coding away. Lol, I love it really, I'm such a geek!!
Sorry for the lack of videos :(

Comment by xacur on Wednesday, 16th December 2009 07:28I ended up doing the same in my site, but it's a wordpress self hosted blog so it's as easy as find the right plugin.
There is megavideo too. I think most people don't like the ads but it's really safe.
lol, Veoh is much worse than it was last time I used it. You can't watch videos longer than 5 minutes, you need to install their software to see more than those 5 minutes. I can't believe what they did with veoh, they even had a forum and received so many complains and only complains there that they ended up shutting it down.
Good luck with the programming, and anyway your site rocks.
Comment by Greg on Wednesday, 16th December 2009 07:36Dude that sucks. I would offer to host your videos but the sheer amount of traffic your site gets would probably take me over my bandwidth limit. in a day. =)
But I don't really know too much about external hosting sites. Good luck man.
Comment by paul.thomas on Wednesday, 16th December 2009 23:55xacur, i was looking at megavideo...i still don't know what to use, even looking at youtube, but i really can't stand their player, although the chromeless version looks interesting...or i could just ditch their player completely and use my own? I dunno, it's the effort factor, I want to post but I want to keep everything the same :S
So veoh's got worse, it's not really surprising i remember when everyone started complaining in the forums, i even gave a little moan in them as well. It was an awesome site when I first discovered it, such a shame.
Greg, lol thanks for the thought though :D I should be able to host the videos on the server sites on, certainly got the hard disk space and I think I get 1tb of bandwidth which this site (and the others on it) don't come close to reaching, it's just the worry that one day it might :S I dunno, plus it's a bit more awkward to do, I can't just copy and paste the player in lol...I'm lazy sometimes.
I was having a look at one $15 a month which isn't too bad, but to use their api (which id use for the video section of the site) cost $100 a month, a little bit extreme when I could just get over myself and just use youtube lol.
Comment by Video? on Thursday, 17th December 2009 00:16http://vimeo.com/ should work
Comment by paul.thomas on Thursday, 17th December 2009 00:19I was actually just looking at vimeo, but they seem very much for the 'creative' type rather than the uploading of PVs and the like, so I'm a little wary of using them in case the same thing that happens with viddler... but if i'm honest if i take that worry out of it they're defo at the top of my list.
Hmm, might give them a little try and see what happens, lol I'll just be prepared for the worst.
Comment by Ian on Thursday, 17th December 2009 12:43I would try
http://vzaar.com/ (but I would say that I as I work there.)
Comment by paul.thomas on Thursday, 17th December 2009 13:37Hahaha @Ian, I've actually setup a free account on vzaar yesterday and was thinking of signing up, probably on the silver package, but i was also kinda hoping to use the api, but it's way too much money for me.... don't feel like doing me a deal ;p
Comment by Ian on Thursday, 17th December 2009 14:06I am sure we can work something our. Lets talk offline ;-)
Comment by Pervy on Friday, 18th December 2009 16:21Why don't you try one of the various porn tubes? I doubt that UFA or the japanese tv stations would ever bother to look for their stuff there... Not to mention that by doing that you would help to introduce HP material to a whole new audience :)
Comment by momo on Friday, 18th December 2009 21:29Why would you suggest something like that? H!P and porn don't mix, nuff said.
Comment by paul.thomas on Friday, 18th December 2009 21:34Ian, just got the email thanks!! I'l check it all out tonight!
Pervy, I'd actually thought of that the other night and headed over to xnxx.com to see what the restrictions and such like were, but...i got distracted by a amateur hot blond if you know what i mean, hmm maybe I should go back and double check XD
momo, porn and H!P... although i like to keep my fap material seperate from my hp, they're both so different and yet so similar, or is that just me?
Comment by momo on Friday, 18th December 2009 21:39I guess it could be you, lol. But sure I would do the same thing too.
Comment by paul.thomas on Saturday, 19th December 2009 02:53Well, for those that haven't noticed videos are slowly starting to appear again on the blog, I've uploaded the videos from the first few pages of the site and will slowly work my way back uploading everything again. It'll probably take a while to get everything back up and in place but it will get there eventually.
Plus I'm really liking the new player a lot, simple and straight forward and they'll even play on your iPhone or iTouch (which they didn't before), I may even add a specific iTouch/iPhone section of the site with video content...but that's right at the bottom of things to do on my list so it may be a long time coming.
As soon as everything is uploaded I'll rework on fixing the video page of the site and the video recommendations, again it may be some time as I want to get all the videos uploaded first.
