London Expo

Sunday, 31st October 2010 19:18 | 48 Comments

Yesterday I went along to the London Expo with CDevil, with the events I've been to this year I was expecting to see a small amount of Hello! Project merchandise somewhere at this event. The French Expo had a ton and the Hyper Japan, a much smaller event held a month of so before, had a couple of items to. So browsing through the stalls I had my eye out for anything of interest and unfortunately I didn't see anything, there was a stall selling what looked like some snide/unofficial Kpop releases but that was all I could find, I have been told by Hexi that there was a stall selling some Hangry & Angry merchandise, but I somehow managed to miss that :(

I found the event itself to be it's usual 'meh' affair, but there was a couple of bits that perked me up, there was a couple girls wandering around the Excel center with their stereo playing and on a number of occasions I heard a little but of old school Morning Musume being played. And their was a couple of girls cos playing Aibon and Nono in Mini Moni, this is the main reason why I wanted to post as I loved their outfits so much! I saw them a couple of times wandering around and just as we were leaving I stopped them and asked for a photo... I hope if they stumble across this post they don't mind me posting this pic, but it's just too awesome!

Ai Kago Clock iPhone App

Thursday, 28th October 2010 16:00 | 63 Comments

I knew that Japanese iTunes account I setup would come in more handy than just for buying the Kaito Reinya App that was released a few months ago. The two current Hello! Project apps available have not been restricted to the Japanese store and so I've had a fair few Yen sitting in my account waiting for something to be released and today whilst watching my Twitter updates flash up on my screen I noticed one about an Aibon app.
A quick hunt around and I'd found and downloaded the Ai Kago Clock app! The App itself isn't anything mind blowing, it's does exactly what the title of the App states; it's a Kago Ai Clock... which essentially means that we get ourselves a clock with a photo of the stunning Aibon (which changes daily), an alarm clock (with numerous clips of Aibon speaking to set as your alarm) and a gallery of all the currently seen images.

The photos and the voice clips are really what make the app fun, in my boredom this afternoon I've cycled through the dates on my iPhone so that I don't have to wait to see all the photos that are on offer (some of my favourite shots can be seen below), the voice clips are awesomely cute and I'm actually tempted to use it to wake me up tomorrow morning. I can't help but think that getting woken up my Kago shouting "WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" is going to be pretty hard to top... I'm lying it's going to be easy, but for the minute it beats the annoying sound of alarm going on at 730.

If you're after the app it can be found on the iTunes Store but you will need a Japanese account to purchase it.

Hello! Project Merch @ Hyper Japan

Saturday, 2nd October 2010 09:30 | 25 Comments

Yesterday I headed into London for Hyper Japan, a 'Japanese pop culture event'. The event itself isn't that large (I'm hoping that seeing as yesterday was a week day that over the weekend they're may be some more stalls and things going on) but it did manage to keep me more entertained than the times I've headed to the London Expo and on the plus side, there was the pleasant surprise of seeing some Hello! Project merchandise being sold on one of the stalls. It's not the worlds largest selection of merch, a selection of PBs and some calenders, but it's better than nothing and luckily I owned none of them so I had something to splash my cash on!

merch bough at hyper japan

I know it's a bit late to be buying a 2010 calender but because I was moving this year I didn't buy one as I had no idea where I'd be able to hang it, but now I've finally finished buying shelves and what not I know when I can hang stuff and at a stupidly low price of £2.99 there's no way I could pass, it makes those 2 pages I'll actually see totally worth the price! The PBs I've yet to have a proper look through yet, getting in quite late last night and feeling like complete crap I headed (almost) straight to bed and today, I'm up early but heading back down to Hyper Japan today to catch Milky Holmes perform, so maybe over the next couple of days I'll be able to sit down and have a proper look through them and write a post up, it's been ages since I've written up (...anything XD) a PB review it'll be good to to write one up again, especially an Aichan one, I don't think I've ever done a review of any of her PBs before and there's always a lot to talk about with hers!
