74 CommentsEver since the move from
:::Dohhh UP!::: to YouTube I've found it hard to keep track of the videos that have been uploaded.
For a start I'm not a big youtube fan, I don't generally browse it for videos and only ever go to the site if I'm linked by someone, and so you can imagine what it's like now that each unit has their own channel.
So, in an attempt to make life easier for myself (and anyone who has a similar problems...well, it would mean you'd have to remember to check this site on a regular basis so I don't know how useful it is LOL) I've thrown a little bar at the top of the site which pulls all of the uploaded videos from all of the official
Hello! Project channels and grabs the latest 11, which are then playable by clicking on the thumbs.
Time to watch that
S/mileage PV that I missed!! I'll even try to enjoy it ;)

49 CommentsThe news of
Ai-chan's graduation has been something that I've been anticipating for quite sometime, upon hearing awhile ago that
Eri,
JunJun and
Linlin were to graduate I was genuinely shocked that she wasn't included in the list of members to leave. If you've not heard the news or haven't read the statements from either Ai or
Tsunku they can be found on
Hello-Online here.
Also, this is the first time a graduation hasn't been a sad process for me, which feels slightly odd. It seems like in the past that every time a member has graduated she's been one of my current favourite members, and although I do love Ai (she both looks and sounds awesome) I've felt for a while that her time had come to an end within
Morning Musume. Ai is certainly a credit to any unit she's been in (yes, even
Mini Moni) her vocals and looks are always something that draw me in, but since she's been leader of Morning Musume I've felt that in the single releases a lot of the attention has been drawn away from the others members and focused on her. Sure she's never really been one to be in the background and not get many lines, but the recent lot of singles with Ai getting the majority of the vocals has made me wish for a change that would shift the balance of the lines.
Sure, it may just be that
Reina or one of the new generation of members will take her place for the lead vocals, but for me that's more than good enough. I'm not rooting for a particular member to get an increase in lines, I'm not even hoping that my favourite members get more attention. It's the shift in sound that having someone like Ai graduate will cause, the songs and the vocals will change I imagine (hope?) quite dramatically.
I do feel really good about the graduation as opposed to others. The time with been given in advance of the graduation and both the statements from Ai and Tsunku both give the impression that there was nothing forced and certainly with the amount of time she's spent within the unit, it just feels right. There's no feeling of WTF with the likes of when
Koharu, Junjun and Linlin, Ai's time in Morning Musume has been well spent, as has her time within
Hello! Project as a whole, with her appearing in some awesome units. I'll be curious to see what she does upon her graduation, hopefully it won't be left guessing months after her graduation and that the months we have left we'll get a gradual trickle of information as to her plans, I'd love for her to go solo or perhaps form another unit but even if she doesn't it sounds like she'll still be around even if it's doing theatre rather than singing.

161 CommentsThe auditions for the new
9th Generation of
Morning Musume was announced earlier today, from 5 members up to 9.
I've only followed these auditions really briefly and mainly when people have tweeted about them, my only real concern was to how many members would be making it through into the group. Obviously talent and cuteness are always a factor in these things, but both of these can be drilled into the girls given time and training.
So, as yet I know extremely little about the girls entering into Morning Musume as the 9th Generation aside from what they look like and that one of them is an
Egg (not entirely sure how I feel about that). I might hunt down some of their audition vids as I'm sure they're up on YoutTube somewhere, but then again I might just sit back wait for the profile photos over on the
Hello!Project Official Site, check out the clips that they'll no doubt be uploading to the
Morning Musume YouTube page and wait till they do their first release.
Congratulations to
Fukumura Mizuki,
Ikuta Erina,
Suzuki Kanon and
Sayashi Riho let's hope you don't all get pushed aside for
Aichan vocals on singles and don't just pretty much appear in the back of PVs dancing...
